GOVERNMENT RELATIONS

Over the years, SMG has represented many clients in discussions and negotiations with regulatory agencies. We recognize the importance of staying in front of developing issues and work to stop laws and regulations that may negatively impact our clients. Through that experience we have developed a specialty in government relations, managed by Scott Smith, SMG’s founder. Our services include legislative lobbying, regulation and legislation tracking and updates, and developing support for energy projects. We engage when regulatory developments are on the table to be sure they are reasonable and effective – not overreaching. We provide “Reg Watch” to our clients as a means of helping them look ahead, prepare for future changes, and address those changes that are not beneficial.
