This week’s storm littered my property with fallen limbs. That in addition to routine spring yard cleanup can generate a large brush pile. Prior to lighting that pile, beware about restrictions to open burning. Burning yard waste is permitted in some areas, but seasonal restrictions kick in for many area counties beginning May 1 and continuing through September 30. The Kentucky Department of Environmental Protection Air Quality Division posted a brief summary of open burning restrictions in their May 20, 2013 Naturally Connected newsletter.
