Shri Vani Sripada of Smith Management Group recently attended a webinar on Cost Effective Practices and Strategies for Green Infrastructure Maintenance.

A green infrastructure approach analyzes the natural environment in a way that highlights its functions and subsequently seeks to put in place, through regulatory or planning policy, mechanisms that safeguard critical natural areas. The multi-functionality of this approach is key to the efficient and sustainable use of land. Most green infrastructure is visible and considered an aesthetic amenity and it’s harder to ignore maintenance needs. However, most often, green infrastructure maintenance can be accomplished with less heavy equipment, manual labor and low level of effort.

This webinar presented real-life, practical case studies of how communities have incorporated maintenance requirements and cost benefit evaluations into the project selection criteria, including standard procedures for inspection and maintenance, staff and equipment allocation, schedules and budgets. Also, case studies from multiple projects and programs were provided.   Many cities in Kentucky have implemented green infrastructure programs.  Smith Management Group can help assist you with these programs.
