On Feb 26th, each East Oldham Middle School 7th Grade science class was visited by four volunteer engineers.  The engineers shared information about their education, careers, and how they use creativity, cooperative work and problem solving to make a difference in our world.  Thank you to the DiscoverE volunteer engineers:

This DiscoverE program has been incorporated into the seventh grade science energy and motion units by teachers Dennis Mangum and Bethany Schooler.  As part of the program, students take part in a roller coaster design competition using foam pipe insulation, tape, toothpicks and a marble.  Prizes for the competition were donated by Hometown Pizza of LaGrange, Kentucky.  The DiscoverE program is part of National Engineer’s Week.  For more information visit http://www.discovere.org/our-programs/engineers-week.
