SMG has been closely following the development of a Total Maximum Daily Load (TMDL) in Floyds Fork.  The ultimate purpose of a TMDL is to restore water quality in a stream.  Streams are touted for TMDLs when they do not meet water quality standards.  Interestingly,  Kentucky Fish & Wildlife announced that they may allow trout fishing in Floyds Fork.  Trout require cool, clean water to survive and are often the first species to disappear from polluted waters.  That said, how can Floyds Fork be polluted to the extent that it needs additional pollution controls that will cost landowners and taxpayers millions of dollars?
