The Louisville Metropolitan Sewer District  (MSD) has named a new executive director. Tony Parrot, formerly of the executive director of Metropolitan Sewer District for Greater Cincinnati, has accepted the position.

MSD is a quasi-governmental agency that serves the Louisville community through wastewater collection and treatment, stormwater drainage and management and flood protection. In the past several years, MSD has been in the news because of merger talks between the Louisville Water Company and MSD. In fact, MSD’s outgoing director is the former director of the Louisville Water Company. Although a full merger now seems unlikely due to a review done last year by the County Attorney’s Office, restructuring of the two agencies seems to be ongoing.
