The Kentucky Division of Water released the latest revision to the KPDES Industrial Stormwater General Permit, making public comment available until April 1, 2013.  This most recent permit draft is less rigorous in key aspects such as numerical water monitoring requirements than the proposal put out in September of 2012.  However, this new permit proposal is broader reaching than the expired General Permit it seeks to replace.  While the details are limited, the extent of the new permit will be defined through the interpretation of ambiguous language in key areas such as the section on “non-numeric requirements.”  These changes will require Industrial Stormwater General Permit holders to take a closer look at their current BMP’s and discern what new requirements will most affect them.  Click here for our breakdown of the proposed changes on key aspects of the permit.
