I had the pleasure of attending Construction Field Day training presented by Louisville/Jefferson County Metropolitan Sewer District (MSD) this week.  Sessions focused on topics such as industrial stormwater inspections, hazardous materials use and spill prevention planning (HMPC Plans), Louisville’s consent decree and MS4 permit compliance requirements, green best management practices (BMPs), the qualified post construction inspector (QPCI) program, floodplain ordinance and permitting, and erosion and sediment control.  My favorite parts of the program were the case studies which identified BMPs which have been found to work well and those which need revision.  Session Presentations from the Field Day are supposed to be posted at www.msdstormwaterquality.org soon.  By the way, the www.msdstormwaterquality.org website is a great reference for wastewater and stormwater management and compliance.
