Patty Mason, civil engineer at SMG, in conjunction with the East Oldham Middle School PTSA and the seventh grade science teachers will lead DiscoverE at EOMS as part of Engineers’ Week. The goal of DiscoverE is to help K-12 students discover the exciting worlds of engineering and technology. The event includes two to three volunteer engineers visiting each seventh grade science class on February 25, 2014. Engineers will speak with students, lead demonstrations, and share what they love about their jobs as engineers. Volunteers from government and private practice will participate. Students will engage in an in-class engineering design contest as part of the program. This is the fourth year that Patty has coordinated the program at EOMS.
