The Kentucky Department for Environmental Protection just published an article in their “Naturally Connected Newsletter. “First Property Purchase under new Land Reuse and Redevelopment Provisions”.  This article describes a project we are VERY proud of.  Karen Thompson of SMG was the consultant to Ruggles Sign Company and was instrumental in helping develop a plan to use the new provisions adopted under House Bill 465 in the 2012 legislative session.

“I believe this provision, and the accompanying regulations being developed right now, will be one of the best economic development assets the state has.  And from an environmental standpoint, it is a good thing to reuse property instead of always developing our open spaces and agricultural assets,” Karen stated.

The Kentucky Department for Environmental Protection, and specifically the Division of Waste Management, is ahead of the curve in developing ways to help redevelop property while continuing to protect human health and the environment.

Smith Management is proud to be the consultant who helped move this first project through the system and we look forward to helping many of our clients and friends with similar successful projects.  For information, contact Karen Thompson at 859-231-8936 ext. 127 or at KarenT@smithmanage.com
